A BIG WELL DONE!!
To KORI JUNIORS – for their exceptional performance at the National Portrait Gallery on December the 7th 2007. Rachel Moss the Young Peoples Programmes Manager for the National Portrait Gallery enthused:

‘Thanks for a fantastic performance on Friday evening. As usual KORI was extremely professional and the mixture of dance, drumming, singing, music, poetry, drama and KaZimba worked extremely well in the context of the room with the portrait of The Anti–Slavery Society Convention, 1840. KaZimba was something completely new for me so particularly of interest. There was a positive response from the audience too.’
The juniors were excellently and professionally led by Ayanna Witter-Johnson. Her exceptional singing and cello playing was extremely moving.
Seniors Project
Apartheid – The politics of Apartness
The seniors spent the last term learning about how societies can develop systems where people live in apartness and the affects of this. This term will focus on the final development of the play, (which will be based on a forum theatre format) devising and rehearsals with the young people will be led by Dramatist Ricardo Mensah and Actor Sagan Daniels.
The finished play will be performed by the group for other young people in Haringey and in Belfast, Northern Ireland during the Easter holidays.

KA-ZIMBA (MARTIAL ARTS)
Well done to the nine members of Ka-Zimba for graduating successfully in December! They faced the judges with amazing confidence at the graduation ceremony and did their teacher, Sola Adebiyi proud.
