Seniors Project
Apartheid – The politics of Apartness
The seniors spent the last half-term learning about how societies can develop systems where people live in apartness and the affects of this. They were visited by a whole range of speakers;

  • Tony Warner (100 Black Men) – Introduction to the Soweto Uprising
  • Sola Adebiyi (Programme Leader) – Understanding Youth Power
  • The experience of racism in the 1960’s
  • Odiri Ighamre (Project Manager) Apartheid in Germany, Rwanda and South Africa
    They also saw three plays in the Unicorn Theatre and the new Bernie Grant Centre to support the playwriting they are beginning this term. Ricardo Mensah our gifted director and writer will continue to facilitate the work. In the New Year the finished play will be performed by the group in Haringey and Northern Ireland.
